Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is a famous American actress and producer. She is gaining recognition for her stellar performances in films including Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. She has won numerous awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. The path to acting began on Broadway with a variety of Broadway and Off Broadway projects. From her early years, she has been passionate in the field of acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. Following a bout of mumps, she went deaf on one side of her ear. However, this was not enough to stop her desire to be an actress. In college she studied theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter was stuck in an elevator with the playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They collaborated to create Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. She landed one as an actress who played the lead character of Swing Shift. For the past 30 years she's appeared in many TV and film shows. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actress and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
